The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) on Thursday held a stakeholder engagement with operators of Private Vehicle Testing Stations (PVTS) as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration and enhance compliance within the vehicle inspection regime.

PVTS operators remain key strategic partners of the DVLA, playing a critical role in testing vehicles for the issuance of roadworthy certificates.

Over the years, concerns have been raised about the increasing number of unroadworthy and rickety vehicles on Ghana’s roads, with many questioning the processes under which such vehicles are certified as roadworthy. The engagement therefore provided a platform to address these concerns and identify practical measures to close existing gaps in the system.
