The Driver and Vehicle Licensing
Authority (DVLA) has received three prestigious awards at the 7th
Africa Procurement and Supply Chain Awards held at the Oriental Hotel, Lekki Lagos
State, Nigeria.
The
Authority was honored with the Best Use of Technology in Public
Procurement, the Public Procurement Team of the Year (Bronze)
and the Public Procurement Icon of the Year. The awards were
received on behalf of the Authority by Amb. Prof. Robert Tay, Deputy Director
for Procurement and Stores. These recognitions mark the Authority’s first
awards for the year and affirm its commitment to innovation, transparency and
efficiency in public procurement processes.
The awards reflect the Authority's strides in
leveraging cutting-edge technology to streamline procurement operations,
promote accountability while enhancing service delivery. The Procurement Team’s
collaborative spirit and professionalism, coupled with strong leadership, were
also key drivers behind this achievement.
In his acceptance remarks, Amb. Prof. Robert Tay
expressed gratitude to the organizers for the recognition. He dedicated the
awards to the hardworking Procurement and Stores team and highlighted the
Authority’s continuous efforts to uphold best practices in public sector
procurement.
“I also acknowledge the unwavering support of the
Chief Executive of DVLA, Mr. Julius Neequaye Kotey, as well as the entire
Management and Staff of the Authority, whose dedication and teamwork have made
this possible. Together, we remain committed to raising the standards of
procurement in Ghana’s public service,” he added.
