The Driver and Vehicle licensing Authority (DVLA) has unveiled its new
ultra center located at 174, Ring Road West High Street (Circle) which
commenced operations from 1 July 2024.
Managed by Bridge Direct in collaboration with VFS Global on behalf of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority affords citizens and residents the opportunity to apply for their Vehicle and Driver Licences service at their convenience. The Ultra-premium office is designed to meet growing demand while enhancing service delivery, the Ultra Centre reflects DVLA’s commitment to decentralizing access and improving efficiency across the country.
Commenting on the premium
centre, Foster Akwasi Asante, Esq., Deputy Chief Executive of DVLA,
Operations said, “The operation of Ultra Centres by DVLA in partnership
with the private sector falls within the vision of DVLA to bring world-class
services closer to the people. The Authority recognizes the need to
decentralize its services to the people with the view to certify every driver
who sits behind the steering wheel after ensuring that they meet all
requirements for certification and issuance of a driver’s licence. In view of
this, I want to urge the general public to approach any of our offices
including the Ultra Centres for driver licence acquisition with ease.”
Mr. Alok Singhal, Head-
Sub-Saharan Africa, VFS Global, said, the conveniently located Centre will
offer a more personalised experience and is equipped to handle higher
application volumes with expedited processing times. “With the Ultra Centre for
Licensing and Vehicle Registration in Accra, we are confident of delivering

experience of providing transparent and scalable solutions in the citizen
services space.” he said.
According to Mr. Kafui
Semervo, Director, Driver Training Testing and Licensing (DTTL), the Authority has
announced plans to introduce driver licensing tests in selected local languages
as part of efforts to improve accessibility. He added that the new testing
options, expected to launch officially by the end of next month are aimed at
making the licensing process more inclusive and accessible, particularly for
applicants more comfortable in their native languages.
“DVLA believes the combined impact of enhanced
infrastructure and more inclusive services will not only improve customer
experience but also drive a major increase in registrations before the year
ends.” He said.
