The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has commissioned
a new Ultra Service Centre in North Dayi, bringing high-quality licensing and
vehicle registration services closer to residents of the area. The facility
becomes the tenth DVLA office commissioned since Mr. Julius Neequaye Kotey
assumed office as Chief Executive in eleven months.
Located in the Volta Region, the North Dayi Ultra Service
Centre will serve the District and its surrounding communities. The facility
forms part of DVLA’s broader national agenda to decentralise operations and
enhance access to services across the country.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Chief
Executive, Mr. Julius Neequaye Kotey, assured residents that the new centre is
fully equipped to deliver the complete range of DVLA licensing and
vehicle-related services, eliminating the need for long-distance travel.
“You no longer have to travel elsewhere to access our services. Simply come
with your documents, and everything will be handled right here. I assure you
that there will be no intermediaries to exploit you, and all charges will
strictly adhere to the approved ultra fees,” he said.
Mr. Kotey further disclosed that the Member of Parliament
for North Dayi has provided a 10 per cent support allocation to ease service
delivery for constituents, noting that this is the first time such an
initiative has accompanied the commissioning of a DVLA office.
He also announced the introduction of a new RFID-embedded
number plate system, adding that all newly issued registration plates from the
North Dayi office will bear the prefix “ND.”
The Member of Parliament for North Dayi, Hon. Joycelyn
Quashie, expressed profound appreciation to DVLA management for siting the
ultra facility in the constituency.
“There were many places this Ultra DVLA office could have been located, but it
was brought here. We are praying for the Chief Executive for more opportunities
so that when good things are shared, North Dayi will always be remembered. This
is just the beginning of greater things to come,” she remarked.
The District Chief Executive, Mr. Ernest Adevor, also
commended the DVLA and the Member of Parliament, noting that the facility
aligns with the government’s broader national development agenda and will
significantly improve service delivery in the municipality.
